FAQ

Is Online Therapy Safe and Secure?

Yes! All the therapy that I offer is HIPPA compliant and all your information is encrypted to ensure that our conversations are all completely confidential. Online therapy not only provides secure, confidential treatment, but it also means that you can get all the support you need from the privacy and convenience of your own home.

What happens during your free 20 minute consult?

Our first conversation provides an opportunity for you to get a feel for what it is like to work with me.  It is important  for you to feel comfortable and confident you can talk to me. I will also know if I have the right skillset to help you. We will set up a brief conversation over video, where you can start to discuss what challenges you’re experiencing and how we might approach working on them together. By the end of our conversation, we will have a good sense if we work well together.

Is EMDR a possible treatment for me?

EMDR is often used to help patients struggling to overcome traumatic past events, or for those who have PTSD. However, EMDR can often be a useful and rewarding treatment for a wide variety of issues.

This video may answer some of your questions. The best way to determine if EMDR is a good fit for you is to schedule a time to chat with me one on one.

Is online therapy really effective?

This is a really great question, and the answer is: yes!

Multiple studies have shown, and I have seen through my own work with clients, that therapy delivered online can be highly effective and have a life-changing, positive impact.

Additionally, because online therapy is so easy to access, it can work for people who might otherwise not have access to therapy services.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not currently accept any insurance.

Insurance companies require a diagnosis in order to cover services, and that diagnosis then becomes part of your medical record. Because I am committed to your privacy and run a label-free practice, I cannot accept insurance at this time.

As an out-of-network provider, you pay for the services that you receive, and then can choose to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. Some clients will be able to get full reimbursement, depending on your coverage and the specifics of your plan. If you plan to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, let me know and I can provide you with the information that you will need for that process.
