My mission is to provide a respectful and comfortable environment where a man can reach his desired potential for a life fully expressed.
Psychotherapy
What labels or stories hold you hostage? What patterns keep showing up in your life that aren’t working for you?
Psychotherapy helps to make sense of the harsh cultural opinions that encourage men to be strong, unemotional, and self reliant. Men can be expected to be the leader, fixer, listener, mind reader, provider, and the comforter all at the same time. Sometimes these roles become contradictory and confusing. How do you cope with these expectations?
I work hard to make sure my clients feel their conversations with me are safe and comfortable, allowing them to work through their challenges.
As someone who specializes in working with men, I recognize the challenges men encounter in today's world. Society often leaves men to face trauma alone, and asks them to suffer in silence.
Our work together will be a safe place, free from shame or blame. You will be able to talk openly, get the support you deserve and get your life back on track.
Online therapy gives you flexibility, convenience, privacy, no commute time, and accessibility.
I understand each one of us is unique and has their own story to tell. When you work with me you will find someone dedicated to your well being and success. The work we do together will be focused on moving forward and finding the balance you need in order thrive.
Imagine a type of therapy that stimulates both sides of your brain, in a way that allows you to remember trauma without reliving it. Imagine a therapy that makes it possible for you to step away from the painful emotions and memories and gain a new perspective.
This is what EMDR (Eye Movement and Reprocessing) does.
In my work with men I have found that EMDR is a uniquely effective approach. It allows my clients to work through their challenges with less talking, and achieve more efficient and profound change.
EMDR frees up the mental space that you need to step away from past trauma and embrace new possibilities, and is one of the techniques I bring to my work.
This treatment taps into your brains natural impulses for healing and wholeness, and allows you a way to process the trauma that you’ve experienced in your past, without having to re-live it. Unlike traditional talk therapy, this approach uses processes of visualization and eye movement to help you move past the emotions that may be stuck in an un-ending loop in your head.
EMDR is consistently recommended for the treatment of trauma and PTSD, but can also be effective for a variety of other difficulties, and many patients report that this approach has been truly life-changing for them. Additionally, many studies have shown that EMDR treatment brings results and relief to patients much faster than approaches that rely only on talk therapy.
If you are curious to learn whether EMDR might work for you, schedule a call with me and we can discuss how this approach might fit into the work we do together.
Leads to lots of “Aha Moments” where you gain insight into your life
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Black and white thinking is something that we all get stuck in from time to time. Often these patterns of thought can become so deeply entrenched in the way we think that we don’t even notice when we fall into these self-destructive, negative patterns.
CBT lets you identify what you are doing that isn’t working in your life anymore, and gives you the tools you need to quickly and easily make changes that will improve your life in real, tangible ways.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an approach that helps to ease you out of the thought patterns that aren’t serving you, and create new, more balanced ways of thinking about your challenges. CBT can help empower you to make changes, see possibilities, and re-discover enjoyment in your day to day life.
